On 1 April, the president of the European Alliance to Save Energu (EU-ASE), Monica Frassoni, participated in the first volume of the webinar series “Towards a net zero energy in buildings”, which which focused on policies, regulations, finance mechanisms and business models.
The online workshop was organised by the European Union Delegation to State of Kuwait, the EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). The aim of the series is to exchange relevant best practices, information and lessons learned and advance regional initiatives on the zero net energy (ZNE) buildings principles in the context of energy transitions and climate change mitigation.

On 26 January 2021, EU-ASE president Monica Frassoni participated in the webinar “Reuters Breakingviews Predictions 2021” hosted by M&M in collaboration with Reuters Breakingviews. Ms Frassoni took the floor in the second part of the webinar, which focused on how cities will rebound from the Covid-19 crisis, highlighting the key role of energy efficiency for green recovery.
The session also featured Kostas Bakoyannis, Mayor of Athens, and Stefano Boeri, internationally renowned Architect and Urban Planner, and was moderated by Rob Cox, Global Editor of Reuters Breakingviews.

On 15 December 2020 EU-ASE co-hosted Next Generation Brescia, an online event to discuss the opportunity to boost green economic recovery at local level in the framework of Next Generation EU and the Italian Recovery and Resilience Plan.
EU-ASE president Monica Frassoni moderated the first part of the event, which focused on European and national guidelines for the Italian recovery and resilience plan. The session featured high-level speakers from the European Commission and the Italian government, including Antonio Misiani, Vice-Minister of Economy and Finance, and Marco Buti, Head of cabinet of EU Commissioner for the Economy Paolo Gentiloni.

On 3 December 2020 EU-ASE president Monica Frassoni participated in the 7th edition of How can we govern Europe?, the annual conference hosted by the Italian EU affairs media Eunews. This years’ edition was held as an online discussion.
In her intervention, Monica Frassoni discussed how to advance energy efficiency as a key tool to achieve climate neutrality both at European and national level, as well as how Italy can boost a green recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic through its Recovery and Resiliency Plan.
Speakers included representatives of the Italian government, the European Commission and the European Parliament.

On 27 November EU-ASE president Monica Frassoni participated in the 20th edition of the annual Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency of the European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources (EUFORES). The conference was held as a Pan-European Parliamentary Webinar.
President Frassoni took the floor during the session “EU Energy Efficiency Policy Update and New Narratives to drive Energy Efficiency“, moderated by Daniel Becker, Director Energy at Guidehouse. Speakers included Carlos Sanchez Rivero, Team Leader Energy Efficiency Finance, European Commission DG Energy; Members of the European Parliament Ciaran Cuffe, Katalin Cseh and Nicolas Gonzalez Casares; Christiane Egger, Deputy Manager, Upper Austria Energy Agency; Adrian Joyce, Secretary General, EuroACE.
